Single Spring to Pair of Springs Conversion
By selecting this option we will mathmatically calculate and send you a pair of garage door springs (Left & Right Wound) using the measurements on your existing single spring. There are a few spring options that we can choose from but rest assured the pair you you receive will operate your garage door the exact same way as before and take the same amount of turns when installing (see description below).
Most garage door springs have a basic, standard life span of around 10,000 cycles. By selecting this option we will use the existing lifting forces of your existing spring to calculate a pair of springs that will last much longer than your original spring did! (25,000+ cycles) Other benefits of this conversion include;
- Having a pair of springs will help keep the door balanced over a longer period of time.
- The pair of springs will be easier to adjust and tension being that they do not have to be as large as the single spring was.
- The pair of springs will share the existing center mount meaning no additional hardware is needed.
- If you happen to have a spring break, you still have a spring in operation that would make the door easier to raise by hand in an emergency situtation (Never operate your garage door opener with a broken garage door spring and professional help is recommended).
Because they also have the same lifting forces, these springs will take the same amount of turns when installing;
31 Quarter turns for a 7ft tall door and 34 Quarter turns for an 8ft tall door. ON EACH SPRING.
